WorldShards’ game economy launch is on the horizon! As fall approaches, we’re getting ready for a complete overhaul — our aim is to make your experience in Murrlandia even more vibrant and exciting.

To start things off, the summer sales will feature artifacts! Since artifacts play such a key role in the economy, you really don’t want to miss these!

The WorldShards Economy

The economy will feature:

  1. Artifacts
  2. Craftable Collectible Items

They are very closely linked and play into all the other mechanics branching off. Let’s talk about both artifacts and the craftable collectible items and see how they will actually fit into WorldShards.

Artifacts

Artifacts unlock the ability to craft and interact with craftable collectible items. They are a type of buildable object that you link to an existing workbench (at no extra cost) if your island contains sufficient artifact slots. Artifacts can be attached to workbenches that produce weapons, armor or tools and upon doing so, unlock all the mechanics surrounding craftable collectible items, specific to that workbench, as well as their progression. They also come in various rarities which itself determines the maximum craftable rarity of the collectible items from that workbench.

Quick note, all collectible items can be traded or sold on various trading platforms such as Open Loot.

You can obtain artifacts in the following ways:

  • Out of a loot chest that you can get from one of our sales
  • From other players through trade via a trading platform

Craftable Collectible Items

These collectible items can be crafted from an artifact empowered workbench. They come with unique characteristics, their own progression system and most importantly they unlock the ability to gain cryptocurrency tokens when out on adventures. They also have limited issuance so each one really is precious.

Crafting:

  • Unlocking the ability to craft requires you to possess both an island with a free artifact slot and an artifact to link to a suitable workbench.
  • Interacting with an artifact powered workbench, you will see a new tab called “Collection”. When navigating to that menu you will notice the “Production” tab where you will be able to select the type of collectible item you want to craft, see its potential parameters and how much this will all cost you.
  • Crafting will require some of the currently available resources, essences, a new premium currency called “Gems” as well as some time.

Do note, craftable collectible items are unique and as such exist in limited quantities. Players will have the option to exchange or sell them through the Open Loot marketplace and other trade platforms. Also important to note, is that the process for upgrading the rarity of craftable collectible items uses collectible items as a resource, therefore organically controlling the amount of items in circulation.

Collectible items have the following unique characteristics: Adventure points, Luck and Luck charge.

  • In order to be able to farm tokens you will need to spend Adventure points before going on a wild island, whereupon doing so you will gain a special buff called “Blessing of Meowken’’ which enables token drops. Adventure points are a key characteristic of collectible items and can be recharged on a workbench linked to an artifact.
  • The likelihood of obtaining a drop is determined by both the Luck parameter of the collectible and the difficulty level of the adventure.
  • Luck charge depends on the rarity of the item and artifact during the charging. When using high-quality items and artifacts, the process will be much more efficient and the resource yield will be higher.

And there’s more…

After the July update, you will be able to acquire artifacts and craft collectible items — which is already wonderful, but things will get really interesting once the token economy goes live.

With the token economy you’ll be able to:

  • Increase the rarity of craftable collectible items — you can enhance the rarity of a collectible item on a workbench using tokens and other collectible items of the same type. Higher item rarity means increased luck, durability as well as unlocking new characteristics entirely. The process itself takes time but can be accelerated using gems.
  • Increase the “Luck” characteristic of collectible items — you can increase this characteristic on a workbench using tokens. Higher “Luck” means a higher chance of dropping tokens when out on adventures.
  • Charge collectible items — you can use artifact powered workbenches to charge a collectible item and increase its current amount of “Adventure points”, those can in turn be spent to get a special buff called “Blessing of Meowken” that enables the ability to farm tokens when out on adventures.

With the changes to the economy, WorldShards is looking for its most active and dedicated players to get involved, grab some artifacts from the summer sales and begin their journey on creating, upgrading and trading the most sought after collectible items! We hope you’re just as excited as us for these upcoming changes and see you in Murrlandia, traveler!
